Catherine holds a MA in Communications from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Phys. Ed. (Bioscience and Kinesiology). She has been involved in business, publishing and communications since moving to the westcoast in 1990.
Catherine was president and publisher from 1995 to 2004 with Capamara Communications Inc. - a company producing trade publications for the aquaculture / fisheries sector, (Northern Aquaculture & Hatchery Magazine), and was publisher and co-founder of North Island Woman Magazine - a publication for and about women who lived on northern Vancouver Island.
Since establishing CeaCom Consulting, Catherine has been involved with several projects - including co-organizing the first three Women of Resource Communities Conferences.
Catherine has had a life long interest in the outdoors and volunteers as a ski instructor with the Vancouver Island Adaptive Snowsports (VISAS) program. She is also involved with her community as a member of the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennia,l and is on the boards of the Comox Valley's Anderton Therapeutic Gardens Society and VISAS.

Linda is a graduate of the Masters Program for Project Management from York University and the University of Victoria and holds the international Project Management Professional designation. She has worked in the aquaculture industry for many years organizing conferences, workshops and other events; managing research projects and extension services; developing training programs; and developing business concepts and fundamentals. She has worked successfully with individuals, government agencies, private companies, universities, and not for profit associations.

Claire Thomson is the Senior Director of Knowledge and Information Resources at the Mining Association of BC. The focus of Claire’s work at the Association is the creation of information resources for Association members and others involved in the mining sector across the Province.
Prior to joining the MABC in 2006 Claire managed the Information Resource Centre for Placer Dome Inc., an international mining company based out of Vancouver, BC. Claire was responsible for creation of virtual information resources to meet the needs of a globally dispersed corporate audience.
Claire has been involved in the mining sector for several years including living overseas for ten years as an expatriate first of all in a remote mining town in Papua New Guinea, then San Francisco and from there, Melbourne Australia.

Leanne is a consultant specializing in economic development issues in rural communities. With over 20 years experience working in the aquaculture industry, Leanne has an extensive on-the-ground understanding of sustainable industries and how they operate.
For several years Leanne has been actively involved in grassroots community and outreach programs. She is Vice President of Positive Aquaculture Awareness, an advocacy group promoting positive environmental, social and economic impacts of aquaculture. She is also a Co-founder of First Dollar Alliance, a grassroots advocacy organization with provincial reach promoting working resource communities of British Columbia to the key urban economic centers
Leanne is a passionate advocate for the fact that the resource industries are the backbone of the BC economy, and recognizes the important role the sector plays both for her own economic well-being and for the future of all the hard-working citizens of resource communities.
Leanne is based in Campbell River.

Madeline Maley, RPF

Madeline joined the Southern Interior Regional Office as
Regional Staff Manager on August 7, 2007 and works with the Compliance and Enforcement, Stewardship and Forest Sciences Programs. Madeline is a Registered Professional Forester, with undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay Ontario.
Madeline and her family, she and husband Jim have two girls, have lived in BC since 1995 when she joined the Forest Service as an Inventory Forester in Port Alberni. Madeline worked in various positions in the district and in 2003 joined the management team in Kamloops Forest District as an Operations Manager.
Madeline is passionate about the success of the Forest Service and its people and
enjoys spending time her co-workers using coaching and mentoring to help them
achieve their goals and the goals of the organization. When she's not at work, Madeline likes to spend time with her family, play hockey, read, and try out new recipes!
